DESCRIPTION:

Storytelling can be act of resilience in response to change and adversity. Examination of intersections of video, storytelling, and cultures of resilience. Through presentations, group discussions, virtual galleries, and video links, students conduct research and study artworks by Werner Herzog, Abbas Kiarostami, Krzysztof Kie?lowski, Lucrecia Martel, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Kara Walker, Ai Weiwei, and other diverse voices. Students create short mixed-media video that addresses contemporary issue of their choice. Designed to help students develop visual toolkit and critical approach to medium of moving image.
