Psychic Construction Co: Testing Report

I had 4 people test my game out last night, in the single player mode. Below are notes on what needs improvement and what worked well:

*All four said rotation was too slow
*One said that rotation should be on the triggers, or that I should have remappable controls.
*Needs sound
*Needs a tutorial or a graphical ‘how to play’ section; controls are too hard to figure out on your own or from a readme.
*Some issues that I thought were obvious needed to be explained (you can pick up blocks that are already placed, not just new blocks; you can stand your character on a block, not just on the stage.
*The overall goal (cover green, don’t cover red) was easy to grasp
*Controls for moving blocks were good once players got used to them, but were initially a little confusing
*All players thought the game was fun; everyone played for at least 10 minutes, and stopped due to frustration with whichever level they reached / running out of time to play.
*Need a way to track where the cursor and character are if they go offscreen
*One player requested a motion curve on the cursor; some way to move really fast so you can ‘dash’ across the screen to try and save things which are falling.
