PRELIMINARY TEST
Over the weekend I did a preliminary playtest with my sisters. Their comments were:
- It is hard to now which frog belongs to the player
- The way the frog jumps and uses its tongue is satisfying
- The controls feel right
- The environment feels too small
I addressed these issues by:
- identifying the frog’s player with a moving arrow
- making the frogs smaller
PLAYTEST WITH LAB MATES
I conducted I play test with a few members of my lab and I got the following feedback:
- Fire ball is too fast (they couldn’t tell it was a fire ball)
- Frog identity is still confusing
- The game feels arbitrary, since the action of the frogs does not depend on how you throw your pill and how your frog attacks the other
- Should add an element of skill
- Damage should be computed based on the distance between frogs
- Damage should take into account how the frogs hits the environment
- The amount of restored health should also reflect how the pill was thrown
- The objective of the game is not immediately clear
