The Game vs. Dicewars

The Game is a scavenger hunt like game where teams of players drive around real world locations solving puzzles. Dice Wars is a dice based single player flash computer game that is similar to Risk.

Players:
The Game is cooperative multiplayer against other teams, Dice Wars is single player.

Objectives:
In Dicewars the objective is to conquer the entire board, in The Game, the objective is reach the end of The Game by solving all the puzzles.

Procedures:
In Dicewars, the player clicks on adjacent territories to attack them. In The Game, players solve various puzzles, drive to locations, or call Game Control to get clues.

Rules:
In Dicewars, dice are rolled whenever a player makes an attack or defends, and the winning dice roll wins the territory. I can’t think of any rules for The Game. I guess you are not allowed to interfere with other teams.

Resources:
In Dicewars, your territories and your dice are your resources. In The Game, your resources are your fatigue, your hunger, and your brainpower (The Game usually lasts 48 hours). Again, I don’t feel like this category fits The Game very well.

Conflict:
In Dicewards, you compete against the computer players for control of the world. In The Game, you compete with other teams to see who can finish first.

Boundaries:
For both of these games, I don’t see much differences between rules and boundaries.

Outcome:
In Dicewars you win if you take all the territories, you lose if you lose all your territories. In The Game, there aren’t clearly defined winners, however many teams fail to finish.
