You Don’t Smell Quite Right

YOU DON’T SMELL QUITE RIGHT speaks upon the trauma of conformity and the evolving sense of dysphoria in relation to trans-ness. I wanted to talk about what it means to be trans as an identity that is unbounded by binaries. Within the game, I wanted to create allusions towards tensions and expectations that are reflected within oppression, but specifically intending it to target the topic of trans narratives.

Smell is such a powerful agent of information, but like so many conduits of information, it can be overwhelmed and overstimulated.

You are not meant to be able to win this game.

But you are meant to play this game with others and create a dialogue.

What type of freedoms exist within this system? What is comfort? Who creates determinations and how are we complicit?
