Joseph Chow-DJRemix

This project is based on an interactive advertisement I came across while looking at a Communication Arts Annual.
The particular ad was for Red Bull, and the whole point of the site was to allow users to create their own remix of photos from various Red Bull advertisements. The user would "scratch" their mouse across a scratchpad, and various different effects and images would show up, dependent on where the user's mouse was.
The user could share the end result. All in all, it was somewhat interesting, and apparently fairly popular. However, I didn't think it was that spectacular, and this project is essentially my attempt to one-up that project by allowing useres, instead of relying on a mouse, to allow them scratch out things by physically using their own bodies.

How to use the software:

1.You'll of course need a working webcam. I would recommend you have something of reasonably good quality
as, when testing with a cheap Logitech QuickCam Cool, the camera kept dropping frames.
2. Next, you'll need to make sure you're in an area with as few colored objects as possible, this is to allow more accurate tracking of
your movement. The system is currently set up to track bright red colors, so grab something bright red. If you desire,
you can also track bright blue and bright green colors by pressing b or g respectively.
3. Have fun!

Final project » (contains applications for both Mac and Windows. You''ll need a working webcam)

Prototypes

These prototypes form the foundation for this program.
The first one is the basis for the tracking algorithim.
The second is forms the class that handles the sound processing stuff
The last one is class designed to enable the user to eraser their image
assuming they don't like what they've made.
