Tiffany Huang - My Robot Journal

My Robot Journal

This application mixes the analog and digital functions of a journal through the service of a friendly hand-drawn and tech-savvy robot. While users instill their human selves and lives into the journal, the journal at the same time utilizes its robot abilities to keep an archive of the user's musings.

In the 'Me' function, users record their and their robot journal's information. In 'Journal', users can write entries and select daily moods. 'List', inspired from the plethora of "Listography" books out there, provides a quick and easy way for users to scribble or organize thoughts. In 'Draw', users can express themselves with pictures, and there are a variety of templates inspired from the book "Do you Doodle?" to ignite ideas. In 'Camera', users are able to literally take snapshots of parts of their lives.

Prototypes

MY ROBOT JOURNAL: An application where children are able to write journal entries, make lists, draw pictures, and use a camera, with the help of their robot to perform the multiple functions.

Many have had journals at some point in their lives, but a majority of these journals also have an extremely short lifespan. My Robot Journal's simple templates and prompts encourage keeping a record of experiences and data that will be worth the laughs many years down the road.

We talked a lot about the common theme of instilling human souls in robots, which have become extensions of human identity and surpass human abilities. My Robot Diary aims to be a personal tool for self expression and reflection, and make use of technology to catalogue life's various little experiences. Prototype 1 displays the home page and how the different functions will be structured.
Press the functions on the right and then the home button to navigate.

Prototypes 2-5 require application download for dadtabase.
Fill out your entry, click save to save, click home to add that entry to your archive.
Click the timestamps to the archive to bring up your saved entries.
