DESCRIPTION:

Study of contemporary photography, including all photographers in Susan Sontags On Photography to present. Students work with one photograph by classic photographers in book and pair it with photograph from contemporary peer. Both photographs need to be similar in composition or topic or technique, etc. Composition studies, color studies, and thorough (visual) research of both images lead to typographic exercises based on images, with newly written text based on knowledge gained during research. Result is visual images translated into visual typography.
