DESCRIPTION:

Exploration of use of augmented reality, virtual reality (VR), projection mapping, and motion-capture technologies as unified technological field representing other realities in live performance context. Review of traditional of theater and musical performance techniques and devices under scope of these new technologies, and merge into form called mixed reality theater. Structured as experimental studio. Notions of narrative, worldbuilding, and embodiment in performative context are primary focus. Students collaborate as theatrical troupe, on individual or group projects, to be presented in front of live public audience at EDA facility event. Previous experience with VR, Unity 3D, and game design recommended.
